AHFS - A Heart
For Sports
Our goal is to
save the lives of young people who, unknowingly, have heart conditions
that can lead to sudden cardiac death. Our goal is accomplished by
offering free cardiac screenings for young people of ages 13-22. The
success of A Heart for Sports Cardiovascular Screening Program is a
testament to the effort, commitment and dedication of quality people
and organizations working together for the greater good.

Heart Safe Club of Rhinebeck
The mission of the Heart Safe Club of Rhinebeck is to provide community
CPR/AED instruction and promote CPR/AED awareness, advocate &
lobby for heart health at the local and state levels, promote community
heart screenings events, provide one CPR Anytime toolkit to each
Rhinebeck H.S. senior to bring home and share with their families, and
hold fundraisers to support the club and it’s activities.

Latitude Sports Clubs
Latitude sports clubs were founded in 2006. With state of the art
facilities in Andover, Methuen, Bradford, and Salisbury, MA, Latitude
sports clubs is committed to offering a superior exercise experience.

Louis
J. Acompora Memorial Foundation
Formed in memory of Louis J. Acompora, who died at age 14 while playing
in a high school lacrosse game, the Louis J. Acompora Memorial
Foundation promotes sports safety and AED programs through national
awareness campaigns, education projects, and affecting policy on local
and state levels.

MAHPERD
The Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education,
Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD) is a non-profit organization for
professionals and students dedicated to: promoting healthy active
lifestyles, advocating for quality programs, providing quality
professional development opportunities, promoting leadership in each of
the disciplines, recognizing outstanding professionals and programs,
supporting research initiatives, disseminating research findings, and
working with allied organizations to achieve common goals.

MIAA
The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association is an
organization of 368 high schools, who sponsor athletic activities in 33
sports. More than 200,000 young men and women competeannually in
approximately 100,000 competitions among MIAA member schools.

MSSADA
For the past 56 years the Massachusetts Secondary Schools Athletic
Directors Association (MSSADA) has supported and been dedicated to
improving the quality of high school athletic programs in Massachusetts.

NABCA
The North American Booster Club Association ("NABCA") is the first of
its kind National Booster Club Association dedicated to providing
booster clubs throughout North America with the highest level of
Guidance, Education, Training and Support.

Project Heart Fit
Based in Tampa, FL and Pittsburgh, PA, Project HeartFit’s goal is to
raise awareness on the risk of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in student
athletes and to provide free EKG and Echocardiogram heart screenings to
help identify potential cardiac abnormalities commonly associated with
SCA.

Saving
Young Hearts
Established in memory of Sean Alexander Anderson, who collapsed in
cardiac arrest while rollerblading in February 2004, at age ten. Sean’s
heart never regained rhythm. Saving Young Hearts’ goal is to educate
parents and communities about the imminent possibility of SCA in
children and young adults and advocate heart screenings for early
detection in school age children.

STARS-US
STARS is dedicated to educating the general public, sufferers, their
families, and medical professionals, about Syncope and the
understanding of these conditions. STARS is committed to improving the
quality of life for individuals and their families coping with
Syncope’s and Reflex Anoxic Seizures. STARS will focus on education and
supporting sufferers, their families, the medical community and general
public by creating a support system where they can obtain knowledge and
understanding of Syncope and RAS conditions. STARS-US will also promote
research into the diagnosis and management of Syncope and RAS, to
publicly publish the results to alert patients, the general public and
the medical community.

Take It To Heart
Formed in memory of Janna April Becker, who died at age 15 of Long QT
syndrome, Take It To HeartTM
increases awareness and provides educational materials and resources to
prevent sudden cardiac death in children and young adults. It promotes
cardiac screenings, beginning with an ECG read by a cardiologist, for
all children entering the 9th grade.
